Glenn. M. Lyon focuses his practice on providing legal services to small and medium-sized privately-held companies and start-up businesses, including transactional services and commercial litigation. Mr. Lyon also handles corporate mergers and acquisitions of various small businesses, and also manages business contracts such as buy-sell agreements, franchise agreements, beta and licensing agreements, and employment/ independent contractor agreements. Mr. Lyon also has experience in alternate dispute resolution, both as a participant and arbitrator, and a variety of landlord-tenant issues.
Mr. Lyon was previously employed as general corporate counsel for Cedar Consulting Group, an international information technology consulting company based in the United Kingdom and nationally in Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to opening MacGregor Lyon, LLC, Mr. Lyon practiced commercial litigation at King & Spalding, LLP in Atlanta.
Mr. Lyon attended Wake Forest University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Psychology. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Mercer University School of Law, where he graduated in the top of his class, was conferred The Faculty Award for Outstanding Achievement in Legal Writing and served as Vice President and co-founder of the Mercer Legal Aid Clinic.
Mr. Lyon is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and a member of the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Bar Association, as well as the Immediate Past Chair of the SP/SF Section of the Atlanta Bar. He is also a member of the Intellectual Property, Tort and Insurance, and Business Law sections of the Georgia Bar and the Litigation, Business and Finance sections of the Atlanta Bar Association. Mr. Lyon is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Court of Appeals of Georgia, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Jerry W. Higginbotham adds significant corporate experience to the firm and also practices in the areas of residential real estate, wills, trust and estate planning, as well as transactional corporate law.
Mr. Higginbotham received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Memphis College of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of South Carolina in 1998. He was then admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2000. Mr. Higginbotham gained further business experience by filling positions of increasing responsibility as in-house counsel/general counsel to employers within various industries, including the medical and technology fields.
Mr. Higginbotham attended The Citadel where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. Before entering law school, Mr. Higginbotham acquired valuable business and finance experience working in the mutual funds division of Merrill Lynch.
John W. Adkins is admitted to practice law in California and Georgia. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia, as well as the Atlanta Bar Association, specifically the Business and Finance, Litigation and Solo Practitioner/Small Firm sections.w
During law school, Mr. Adkins served as a legal intern for the San Diego District Attorney and worked as a law clerk for a corporate law firm. After graduating from law school, he worked as in-house corporate counsel for a construction company located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mr. Adkins graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kennesaw State University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California. While there, he graduated in the top half of his class and won various mock trial competitions in the Intensive Advocacy Program at the University of San Francisco.
