History

Founded in 2003, MacGregor Lyon, LLC is an AV-rated Preeminent business law firm based in Atlanta serving the legal needs of small businesses and start-up companies.  We serve as outside general counsel for small businesses who need efficient and competent legal help from time to time from an attorney who knows their business.

Lyon is also a member of Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite and an AV-rated  Preeminent business attorney specializing in providing legal services to small and medium-sized, privately-held businesses and start-up companies, including transactional services and commercial litigation. Glenn also handles corporate mergers and acquisitions of various small businesses, and also manages business contracts such as buy-sell agreements, franchise agreements, beta and licensing agreements, and employment/ independent contractor agreements. Glenn also has experience in alternate dispute resolution, both as a participant and as a mediator and arbitrator.

Before founding MacGregor Lyon, LLC, Glenn practiced commercial litigation at King & Spalding, LLP in Atlanta and was employed as general corporate counsel for Cedar Consulting Group, an international information technology consulting company based in the United Kingdom and nationally in Baltimore, Maryland.

Glenn lives in the Upper Westside area of Midtown with his wife, two sons and their two dogs.  He enjoys playing guitar when he can find the time and spending time with his family and dogs on Lake Sinclair near Milledgeville, GA.

Stephanie Godsey Shepherd

Stephanie Godsey Shepherd oversees our Macon office. Stephanie has served as legal counsel to underwriters, banks, hospitals, colleges and universities, and municipalities in connection with over $1 billion in structured finance transactions, both with King & Spalding, LLP and Squire, Sanders, and Dempsey (now Squire Patton Boggs).  Following her financial transactions practice, Stephanie has served as vice president of Spearman Investments, a Macon-area investment firm, and as vice president of Syncro Medical Innovations, a medical device company.  Reentering the practice of law, Stephanie’s extensive experience in contract negotiation and all aspects of finance transactions serve to bolster her ability in serving clients on a wide array of matters.

Stephanie graduated cum laude from Mercer University School of Law, where she served as editor-in-chief of the Mercer Law Review and was named Outstanding Senior by the faculty upon graduation.  Stephanie proudly serves on the Board of Visitors of her alma mater, working to ensure the continued stature of Mercer Law.

Stephanie and her husband, George, enjoy playing racquetball (especially when Stephanie wins), participating in community activities and often attending music venues. Stephanie and George also enjoy frequent visits to her parents’ beach villa at the King & Prince on St. Simons Island.
